About This Event
Join us at the Charles Allis Art Museum for a dynamic weekend of art, music, and exploration during Winter Gallery Night & Day. Visitors are invited to experience the historic Allis mansion filled with creative energy—from emerging student voices to contemporary works that reimagine overlooked materials.
Friday evening features the opening reception for Winter Arts@1801 in the Great Hall. This student exhibition highlights work developed through the museum’s youth arts program and reflects the creative process from concept to completion. Guests can enjoy live music, light appetizers, and a cash bar throughout the evening.
In addition to the opening reception, visitors are encouraged to explore Bated Breath: Neglected Possessions, on view throughout the home. Featuring Milwaukee artists Leah Schlageter, Catherine Martin, and Sea Green, the exhibition transforms discarded and forgotten materials into imaginative mixed-media works. Set within the historic interiors of the Allis mansion, the exhibition invites reflection on resilience, reinvention, and the meaning we assign to everyday objects.
