About This Event
Celebrate the creativity, dedication, and growth of Milwaukee’s next generation of artists at the opening reception of the Arts@1801 Art Exhibition!
Funded by Bader Philanthropies, this exhibition features original works by students from Rufus King High School’s IB Visual Art Program, presented in The Hall at the Charles Allis Art Museum. Join us for the opening night to meet the artists, hear remarks from students, teachers, and museum staff, and explore the galleries. Light refreshments will be served.
The showcase is the culminating exhibition for students enrolled in the IB Visual Arts program—a rigorous, college-level course requiring students to create a cohesive body of original work supported by deep research and reflective writing. Their studies include:
- A Comparative Study of global artworks analyzing cultural context, form, and purpose
- A Process Portfolio documenting experimentation across media including 2D, 3D, and digital work
- A final Exhibition, where students curate resolved works that demonstrate technical skill, conceptual depth, and intention—accompanied by written curatorial statements
This spring, through the Arts@1801 program, students also worked with professional Milwaukee artists to receive feedback and prepare their portfolios for public presentation.
Come support these emerging voices in Milwaukee’s art scene—you’ll leave inspired by their vision, talent, and growth.
Exhibition Dates: June 13 – July 19, 2025
A closing event will take place during Gallery Night & Day on July 18, Stay tuned for details.
